I'm curious to hear what people think of the new Army advertising slogan. I am especially interested in how people think it fits with the demands of the military to create recognition with a larger organization, accept a certain loss of self/individuality, whether the people who will respond will be the sort who will be effective members of the military, etc. In general, what do people think of advertising as it relates to the military? What about the Navy's use of the SEALS as a subject for commercials? Or the Air Force showing aviators? Or the Marine Corps' dragon slayer? Conspicuously missing, interestingly, is patriotism. What might be the impact of this?
