Absolutely. The force structure certainly needs to be re-examined. I do advocate a smaller, better trained Army rather than just filling slots and calling it readiness.

A re-examination (read elimination) of our NATO duties would also be warranted. Although stability in Europe is desirable, there is a point beyond which we need to say "do it yourselves". Considering the treatment our Commander in Chief recently received, I would say that time is at hand.

Once again, though, we must recognize this step for what it is. To expect the military to fix itself with sweeping changes is ideal, although a bit too optimistic. Like other things, this is simply a step in the right direction.

BAH is non-taxable, allowing the Joes who are receiving it to keep it all. Although not sweeping or grand, it's the right thing to do for an enlisted force, the majority of whom are good kids and hard workers.
